Here is a quick reference guide to trouble shoot any problems that you may encounter when setting up or using your eblade. These are direct from Nick Truter and GerryB at wgppress.com.

My Batteries Are Not Lasting Very Long! Why?

To maximise your battery life -

1) Ensure that your lug is polished, as specified in the manual.
2) Ensure that the rear of the sear is polished and lubricated with a 'sticky' Teflon lubricant.
3) Ensure that your sear solenoid travel is no greater than 1.5mm.
4) Use a light main spring.
5) Ensure that you display brightness is no brighter than it needs to be.

I Have Leak From Inside The Front Of My Solenoid Housing! Why?

It sounds like you may just need to tighten up the solenoid into the housing. What happens is the gasket that seals between the solenoid and the housing relaxes over time, and sometimes fails to seal fully. tightening up the solenoid clamps the gasket harder.
Look on the bottom of the solenoid, and you see 2 diagonal screws. De-gas the gun and just slacken them off a turn, then do them up again, taking turns to tighten them up, like you would do up the nuts when you change a car wheel! This is to apply even pressure across the gasket.

If you try this and it still leaks, you may want to remove the solenoid completely, and take a look inside the manifold. If you look into the bottom of the manifold where the gasket sits, see if there is a small ridge running right down the base. This ridge may be right down the centre of where the gasket sits, causing a leak. If this ridge is there, it can be removed using very fine sandpaper on the end of a small dowel rod. Then repeat the process above.

Although a fresh battery has been fitted, the Eclipseblade will not switch on. Why?

Check that the battery has been fitted correctly. Fit the battery correctly with the positive terminal nearest to the side of the frame.

The battery terminals are not making proper contact with the battery. Remove the battery, gently bend the terminals towards where the battery will sit and then replace the battery.

What lube should i use on the back of my sear?

Wurth HHS 2000 is our lubricant of choice, as it is a highly adhesive, sticky lube that will stay on your sear.

My trigger sticks when i pull it. What can i do?

Check that the grub screw nearest the magnet is wound in far enough so that it provides good magnetic contact for the trigger return.

Also check that the trigger pin is free of loctite and can rotate freely.

Check that the trigger pin isn't too tight in it's hole, and if it is gently ream out the hole with an 1/8th inch reamer.

Sometimes it seems like my gun won't fire. It cycles but won't fire. Why is this?

Because the rate of fire is much higher with the introduction of the e-blade, the hammer lug is more susceptable to vibration. As the marker cycles, the vibration may cause the lug to "walk" in either direction up or down.

It is suggested that in order to prevent this from happening, the hammer be replaced with one equipped with a "nylon set screw" in the side.

As the hammer lug is lowered into the hammer, the threads of the lug cut grooves into the nylon set screw. As the hammer cycles back and forth now, the vibration is absorbed by the nylon, allowing the hammer lug to remain in position.

This will allow a tighter fit of the lug to hammer as well, and the set screw can be adjusted in as it begins to wear down.

Many styles exist of this type of hammer, and any major distributor should be able to acquire this type of hammer for you.

Where can i buy a hammer with nylon locking screws in it?

Both Eclipse and WGP have released their own hammers both featuring such locking screws. Check them out at either www.planeteclipse.com or www.worr.com

Paint Break and Eye Malfunction:

Sometimes, if there is a bad paint break, whether it's from a bad match to barrel, or pinching, or just bad paint, the eye can become saturated with paint and "TEMPORARILY" stop working.

Take the following steps:

1) remove the eye cover
2) gently remove the eye from the body
3) using a Q-tip and alcohol, gently clean the front side of the eye
4) using a Q-tip and alcohol, gently clean the contacts on the back side
5) leave the eye outside of the body for a few days to a week to dry
6) test the eye to see if there are any changes

After giving ample time for the air to dry any remaining paint or moisture, most of the time, the eye will begin working again. Once you determine that the eye is working fine again, you can apply a coating of clear acrylic nail polish to the back side of the eye and around the bottom of the sensor to help seal the contacts and keep moisture out.

New eyes are coming pre-coated with a finish that should help with this already.
