Ok, its not too hard:

First unscrew the two grip screws on the left hand side of the gun to reveal the bottom of the board/solenoid assembly. Turn on the gun and then push the grey button you see towards the bottom of the board, this will put you into programming mode. Now the dwell is set using the first two LED settings. These are denoted by either a solid yellow (Raise the dwell) or red (Lower the dwell). Each time you press the grey button it will switch to the next programming mode. To just play with dwell focus on the solid yellow and red illuminations. (Which are the first two settings) The programming mode is as follows:

Solid yellow: Dwell Up
Solid Red: Dwell down
Single blink yellow: Rate of fire up (or down dont remember)
Single blink Red: Rate of fire down
Double blink yellow: Fire mode up
Double blink red: Fire mode down

Ok so when you first press the grey button the LED will illuminate solid yellow, press it again and it will change to the solid red LED. This is the Dwell down setting. I believe stock Ions are set at around 47-58 milliseconds or something like that. With a QEV you can go a lot lower.

So with the LED illuminated red begin to press the power button. You will see the yellow LED blink each time you do. This represents you lowering the dwell by 1 millisecond. Continue to press the power button until the yellow LED no longer flashes when you push it. This means you have set the dwell to zero.

Now cycle the LED menu back to solid yellow to raise the dwell. Again push the power button to raise the dwell. I would set your dwell to 15-16 milliseconds to be conservative (press the power button 15-16 times), and then you can lower it/play with it to see what your gun can handle. Regardless 15 milliseconds is a lot better than 50 so either way you are coming out a winner ha ha.

If you are having any problems let us know.

I agree definately know your manual front to back, but don't be afraid to ask for help if you ever need it!
