Yeah i mean its like ur saying its completely different. Its a body....that uses the Ion bolt, Solenoid/board assembly, and grip frame (Even takes aftermarket Ion triggers!!!!)....sounds like an Ion. I dont care if they market it as whatever...its an ion!

I can see that yes they are only selling them as a separate marker right now online. No doubt this is because they want to sell the entire marker as one piece and make as much profit as possible. As Nightkast stated the actual kits to convert an Ion into an "SP-8" were being sold at Cup.

It is undeniable that underneath it all is an Ion.

It is like when Smart Parts first started selling their Ions in 4 different colors. Then they thought..Hey!, if we sell them only in black, people will be more likely to buy our color kits and we make more money. Same thing here. They get more by selling em all together and labeling it as something entirely different up front.

SP makes more money selling a supposedly "new" marker rather than a kit alone. Actually quite smart since people that are not familiar will definately be drawn in and be more likely to purchase it.
