 and also i want to take the rubber off but not scratch the shell w/ a pair of plyers or something... what should i use... any chemicals or anythin?  |

Here are some videos detailing the Ion disassembly (In 3 Parts):
The account has been suspended so you will probably have to wait to view them (Sorry about that) To remove the body you must first separate the upper half from the grip frame. There are two screws on the grip itself and one in front of the breach were the barrel screws in. Once these are removed push on the bottom of the solenoid/board to push the top half away from the grip frame. Loosen the first banjo bolt that is connected at the front of the grip frame (coming from regulator). That will allow you to fully separate both halfs. Next undo the other two banjo bolts and remove the eye wires to completely separate the solenoid assembly from the upper body. To remove the body, simply grip the feedneck and anywhere on the body and pull in opposite directions, and you are done. As for the rubber, it is molded onto the body, so you will need to sand it away to get rid of it. Disassembly Vid Part I Disassembly Vid Part II Disassembly Vid Part III
