Different skills and education have of course an influence on
salaries. But...here we are talking of *minimum salaries* ie below
standard.

I am making a difference between poor salaries and low...but
acceptable salaries allowing at to live....

No such thing. I worked for huge US companies...And in Switzerland we
have certainly *no welfare trash*. We have to pay our *mandatory*
medical health system....with hard earned money. But in contrary to
the USA...nobody will die in our country for lack of medical care
insurance cover...We consider this as a *moral* duty...

How is the present situation of the US economy ? Would you call it as
brilliant ? And much more is sadly said still to come.

If someone has no skills and a business owner is willing to hire that person
to sweep floors for $2 an hour, then $2 an hour is what floor sweeping is
worth. If the guy wants more, he can try to sell his floor sweeping skills
to another business owner/manager. You may be thinking minimum wage but
those have been shown to be bad since every time minimum wage goes up,
either prices go up or people get laid off or people are told to work less
hours or something like that. Businesses are in business to make money.
Period.

It is worse in CA than in other places. OTOH, where in Europe have they
experienced a 9-11 event that killed their economies? Nowhere you say?
Well that's the thing. Events like 9-11 can cause economies to crash. People
like Gray Davis and the liberal state legislature can cause economies to
crash. Or socialism can cause economies to crash.

Ah, but that is a very short term view for businesses to take.

Yes, businesses want to make money. But they also need to
sell their products. If the workers don't make enough to buy the
products, the business will probably not last long enough to
make much money.

Also, workers who are paid a living wage are generally more
productive and help the business make money.

Or move all their production facilities to communist China or VietNam.

And if it means moving their production facilities to communist China or
VietNam or to Mexico, then it must be just fine'n'dandy because those
businesses are in business to make money.

> Period.

I'm not interested in why you're acting so "unusual", I'm just commenting on
your advocacy at making money by supporting making money by supporting
communism.

Gee whiz - the next thing you'll be demanding is that the President of the
United States be elected!

And that both California and Spain have weapons of mass destruction and that
the Vatican has weapons of Mass.

The humanity of it all!

That's why it's called "CA-CA".

Well, Nazi invasions didn't do a great deal for their economies, dontchaknow.
Of course, D-Days helped with their recovery.

Now don't you go anticipating the command, Mr. Whoopi Cushion.

Did your Mommie and Daddie reduce your little allowance? No? Then quit
extrapolating from your own experiences.

Of course, our fine capitalistic endeavors - led by fine Texas capitalists
such as our current President, Donal Rumsfield - and patriotic companies such
as Enron - are vigourously fighting unAmerican deceits such as truth, justice
and the American way.

Or socialism can cause economies to crash.

Thank goodness, we Americans have patriotic organizations such as WorldCom,
Enron, Dow Chemical and the state of Texas to serve as our bulwalk against
non-Texas approved socialism.

And, of course, we have people such as the thingie to which I'm responding to
stand up for America by writing as a falsie who is too cowardly to sign
her/his/its name and, therefore, has the same validity as Josef Stalin,
her/his/its mentor.
