Interesting! He said, in that post:

"That doesn't mean that the Bible explicitly condemns
abortion, or confers the same sort of status on the unborn
as it does on the born. Indeed, the one passage that
specifies a penalty for destroying a fetus indicates to me
that they are not as significant as people, but are more
like property."

...which, except that he said it in his own words, is EXACTLY a
point that *I* make in my posts with some frequency.

Matt Pillsbury is an astute Pro-Choicer who simply has a perspective
on SOME aspects which are somewhat different from mine, but those are
very SLIGHT and inconsequential differences, given the big picture.

He also said, in the above-cited post:

"...one thing that you might want to consider is that even
battling 'pro-life' political efforts in not war. One of the
problems with American political thought as it now stands is
that nothing can be done without declaring "war" on
something -- as if a war on poverty, or drugs, or now terror
could possibly mean anything, or possibly be won."

And I would partially disagree with him on that, citing segregation
as an example. The segregationists were EQUALLY loathesome in terms
of their bigotry and ignorance, as are today's Anti-Choicers. And the
Civil rights workers DID wage war on segregation... and they WON.
Segregation has been extinct now for 38 years. I see no reason to
believe that the Anti-Choice agenda's suffering the SAME fate is anything
less than imminent, over just the next few years. (And MOST of that war
was won with Roe vs. Wade. Until extinction for Anti-Choice comes, we
Pro-Choicers are primarily DEFENDING that freedom which has already
been won.

One of the MANY sorts of reasons that people in here regard him
to be a total loon, and call him "Papa Jackass."

Negative. Americans have CONSISTENTLY been Pro-Choice by
a 2-1 ratio for more than 20 years.

The DEFINITIVE poll was the general election of 1998, wherein
Anti-Choice managed to get a proposed ban on ID&E abortion on the
ballot as a referendum item in two whole STATES: Colorado and
Washington. That's FAR better than the comparatively small samplings
that polls take. It got the opinion of MILLIONS of voters. And they
TROUNCED the proposal in BOTH states. It was an EXCELLENT proof
that when Americans have the chance to do so, with respect to abortion
the have NO desire to be control-freaks. It sounded a strong death knell
for the Anti-Choice movement.
