You're not getting it, Tony. Money is not the whole of the point. Do I need to reiterate *again*? Read along with me now: At rec ball level and budget, there is no need for the newest, flashiest top-of-the-line marker. It doesn't make up for bad play, it just frees people up from having to think to overcome it. Example: I play with a Phantom. I take out as many people, both rentals and with the new heavily modified Dye Rampmaster 5000, as I ever did with my old spyder, or as I still do with my new A5. A professional pool player can give his thousand-dollar sponsor cue to anyone in the pool hall, and still stomp their ass with the bent, chipped house cue--he knows how to handle a stick better, and how to make up for its mistakes. What I said in the first place is "if it doesn't suit your purpose, don't buy into it". What I meant was that, though the Matrix is a great gun in its own right, just because it's more expensive, doesn't make it better. Would you take a BMW sport bike onto a moto-cross track? No, because it's not made to handle jumps and doesn't come with knobbly tires for the dirt. On the other hand, would you head off to Laguna Seca with that dirt bike? No, because it doesn't go nearly as fast as the Beamer. The Matrix is great, but it's too expensive for most people, and in the woods when, guess what, YOU DON'T HAVE TO EMPTY YOUR HOPPER AT PEOPLE, it doesn't make a dam bit of difference. I would rather have the A5, which shoots slower, but I can butt it up against my shoulder and aim like I would a rifle. Flawless? No, but I can still hit someone with one or three shots, instead of emptying a pod at them. My Tippman has been caught in brush, dropped down hills and off tiny cliffs, slammed against rocks, and completely submerged in water--stuff that happens in the woods that rarely does in speedball. I wouldn't abuse a Matrix like that, and durable as they are, they're still an electro, and don't particularly like much of that. -- Please note that due to cuts in the budget, the light at the end of the tunnel has been disconnected. --Management |

You simply must teach me the ways of the newsgroups, oh sensai. -- Please note that due to cuts in the budget, the light at the end of the tunnel has been disconnected. --Management |

Well, congratulations. Being a moderator in the past doesn't mean that you don't dodge around, or simply ignore a point you don't want to see. Maybe I'd be a little more impressed if you could concede the occasional point instead of moving to a separate one and arguing the thread into the ground. -- Please note that due to cuts in the budget, the light at the end of the tunnel has been disconnected. --Management |

He killed his server by playing with the boot sector on mirrored drives with both switched to active. Figure that one out. He was trying to create a "Boot Armor". Yeah it worked. umno
proto matrix dye matrix it's like vw passat and audi a4: same base (older matrix) and general idea (spool valve), but different trim level and different manufacturer (even though both are the same company like VAG) the closest paintball equivalent would be like saying "halo's suck, get a reloader" (the empire reloader b is the same thing as a halo b, but sound activated instead of always spinning like the halo) John Comma Smith wrote: > mad8 wrote: > > proto's suck. get a dye > > > That is the equivelent of saying M98c's suck, get a Tippmann (Referring > to an A-5). |
