A Drop Forward is a special kind of knee/shin pad used by tournament players
who slide in behind bunkers at high speed quite often, thus the name --
they're dropping down as they slide forward into cover. There has been some
controversy over them lately as some Drop Forwards have hard external shells
like rollerblade pads that allow players to slide across the field for some
distance, these might be outlawed by the tournament leagues. Of course,
many special pants used by tourney players have built-in knee pads so if you
get those you don't need a set of Drop Forwards. Hope that helps.

Well you have by your past admissions stated that you play a lot of
paintball as well as claim to know a lot about paintball and you don't
know what a drop forward is?

Drop Forward = An Offset Bottomline that allows you to attach the
bottle horizontally to the bottom of your grip. while moving it down
and forward of the standard bottomline. It makes the gun's weight a
little more balanced while it still allows the bottle to double as a
shoulder stock (most of the time) It gives your marker a shorter and
more compact design. It helps those with short and small frames to
manage the marker more readily.

I only use one on my right knee, I like to keep the flexibility of the left
for snap shooting.
Cheers
