I start as a marshal at venue in England soon & I have some questions to
pose: What is the range of a p/ball gun? Is their any legislation regarding paid workers in p/ball games in the UK? What is the average daily pay for outer London area paintball work? John Locke. |

Depends. 75-100 feet is about the limit for effective range(where you can consistently expect the paint to go where you aim, and have that paint break when it gets there). However, the absolute range is fairly long; you can arc a paintball out to like 300+, maybe 400 feet if you've got that much open space and angle the gun at like 45 degrees or so, not that you would be able to actually hit anything you aimed at at that distance. > Is their any legislation regarding paid workers in p/ball games in the UK? While I don't know the specifics of legislation as far as UK paintball field workers go, I would suspect that in order for anyone to be helpful, you would need to narrow down your question. I mean, I am pretty darn sure that there actually *IS* some legislation regarding paid workers in pball games in the UK. > What is the average daily pay for outer London area paintball work? Well, if refs over there get paid what they do around here, the phrase "a pittance" should be coming up quite frequently. -- Jeff Goslin - MCSD - www.goslin.info It's not a god complex when you're always right |

Not so Jeff. I have bagged more than one person at the 200 - 250ft range, a couple of them while they were running. Like ducks at a shooting gallery. |

Like I said, consistent hits, consistent breaks is pretty much limited to about 75-100 feet. Yes, I've hit a few guys at 250-300 feet, but that's pretty rare. One time a guy was standing in a two story tower across the village from me. He was a buddy of mine who happened to be on the other team. He goes "yooooohoooo!" and starts waving (you can't hit me type shit). Nobody was shooting at me at the time, so I figure, hell, I'll give him a scare. I honestly didn't think i was going to hit him, but sure as nuts, I hit him square in the chest with a single shot from about 300 feet, even though the ball didn't break when it hit him. These things happen, just not that often. -- Jeff Goslin - MCSD - www.goslin.info It's not a god complex when you're always right |
