I'm almost positive my next gun is going to be an electronic cocker but need
some advice on parts. Most important to me is efficiency and low kick. I
assume any electronic grip will be plenty fast enough for me - I'm stepping
up to this from a Blazer. My dream gun would be an electronic Blazer but
since there's no easy way to get that, I want the next best thing.

So I need help with the major decisions.

Gripframe - I want an electro frame that I can easily set so that no ref in
his right mind will think it's anything but pure semi-auto. I want to
completely avoid cheating of any kind with this. If it even has the ability
to ramp, I dont want it. What are my options? There's the Racegun and
E-Blade 1 & 2, obviously. Anything else I should look at?

Barrel - Either a nice barrel kit or 2 or 3 good one-piece barrels. Any
recommendations on a kit?

Front block - I love my Blazer so I'm sold on the Micro-Rock, no doubt. What
should I look for in a ram, or what ram should I look at?

Reg - I'm a believer in the Stabilizer. Might even go for a Fatty if this
thing ends up low-pressure enough. I've heard a lot about MacDev's reg but
have zero experience with it. Any input on this decision?

Internals - NO idea what's going on here. None at all. What should I look
for in a bolt or valve?

Body - Is any body better than another? Don't need anything incredibly
fancy, just simple milling that will look good in a glossy black.

I have a Y-Board Egg2 on the Blazer right now. I like the high capacity so
I'm pretty sure I'll stick with it instead of a Reloader B (only other one
I'd consider).

And a clamping feedneck of some kind, some DYE Sticky 3's, nice looking
beavertail, cocking rod, back block, etc. Any performance issues to consider
with any of these smaller things?

What have I missed?

Joel Hoyt

dont get the last cocker, cant remember their names, but look for an 04
or 03 cocker, they have nice milling. racegun or e-blade, any of them
will do the job, barrel a kit is good, but 2-3 barrel with different
bore is fine..u could get a palmer front block if u like it but be
surwe to have a quick exhaust system... try to find to right body for u
, like centerfeed ...internal you could get another bolt but this is
not a priority..most of the things u said, like back block r mostly
cosmetic one....

i say first get a cocker, try it, and if you like it enough, then get a
e-grip for it. then the rest will come ......it also depend if you play
tourney, rec...

Why would you buy a palmer front block kit when he's going electro, and that
requires it's own front block bits???

The below is not even remotely true anymore. I played a big game a couple
weeks ago and was amazed to find that most of the rec ballers out there seem to
all have e-guns of one kind of another...and we're not talking e-spyders....I
saw more matrixes and e-cockers that day than I had in pretty much all my time
playing (I've been out of the game for a little over a year now).

If its me, and I'm buying a new gun, and I want an e-cocker, I look at the
karnivorr, or any of the electros from planet paintball.

When the TECHNOLOGY becomes more important than THE GAME it's time to take a
step back and ask yourself, which do I enjoy more, playing paintball, or
engineering? And If you haven't owned an E-Cocker before, wouldn't it make
sense to start with a basic model and decide over time which mods (if any)
are really needed, on the theory that what ain't broke don't need fixing?
And if you are going to trick out an already fairly extreme gun, are you
really going to spend money based on recommendations online from people who
may or may not have a clue what they're talking about? Your initial post
sounded like, "I'm thinking of getting back into gardening, maybe grow some
roses, which model bulldozer should I buy and should I order it with the
supercharger and backhoe attachement? Hey, if you enjoy the chrome plating,
cool, that's no crime. It just struck me as an odd way to go about buying a
new paintgun, especially a fairly expensive one, but to each his own.
Personally, I think at least half of the money people spend on fancy
paintguns would better be spent on paint and field time, but that's just me.

Doug I now use a non-electro freeflow cocker and just love the shit outta
it. I will never be an ironmen or play for dynasty but my freeflow stands up
to any electro in a rec speedball x-ball game....
