Have you guys heard about the new 15 BPS rule in the PSP and CFOA?
Apparently they are forcing everyone to use capped chips/boards and/or
loaders for next season. I'm interested to see what you guys think.

Makes sense to me. The only thing that results from high ROF's is
overshooting. No one wants to take 5 hits when one is sufficient for
elimination.

A good idea. Not that anyone will actually follow the new rule, but if it makes
the judges feel better and the sponsors look more legitimate, fine.

Terrible. Some of the pros will have to learn to aim now and that can't be
good.

Tony, take 2 of the pink pills and 1 of the blue, not the other way around.
For ****'s sake, it was a joke.
I've played twice as much speedball as I have woods, and you know what? I
don't give a **** about who can bunker me and who can't. You know why? I
play because I enjoy it. If I wanted a hose I'd go buy it. I don't need to
win it.
Look what paying players has done for other pro sports. Sure, plenty turn
out to watch it, but it's a shitty world to play in or do business in.

WHAT THE HELL??? They're capping the rate of fire?? I could try my hardest
to come up with a more dictatorial, fascist, nazi-like dictum to be handed
down by the powers that be, but I doubt that I would *EVER* be able to come
up with something that shreds the very fabric of humanity in the same
visceral manner that this edict does.

I mean, what do they expect, that we're all going to go back to shooting
pump guns or something? Next thing you know, we'll be limited in how much
paint we can carry.

And heck, for all that, what difference does it make if you're shooting 15
or 16 bps? Who picked the cutoff point, and on what did they base that
cutoff point? We all know how mindnumbingly easy it is to hit 15bps
anyways, if they are going to make a cutoff point, at least make it
something that is not realistically possible at this point in time, so that
you're not always changing the point at which it's cut off, ya know?

On a side note, has anyone seen my sense of sarcasm? I seem to have
misplaced it... ah well... back to what I was saying...

And another thing...

A bunch of pals of mine have reffed the NPPL circuit the past couple of
years, the stories they bring back are sometimes hilarious, sometimes
nauseating. Funniest of all is their "helmet-cam" video, you can see and
hear everything the refs experience up close, watching and listening to the
so-called "pro" players openly cheat, whine, scream and pout is really an
eye-opener. And then a couple of months later you get to read about the
tournament in the magazines, and most if not all the cheating, screaming
etc. has magically disappeared, as if it never happened, isn't that odd?

As for a 15bps limit, ya, right. The cheater boards available now allow
anyone to shoot any rate of fire with any velocity they please at will, and
some of them are *real* tough to detect. Sure, a couple of lesser teams
have been DQed for such equipment, but oddly enough the big-name teams with
the heavy sponsorship never seem to get caught even if they'll tell you
about their illegal gear once they have few beers on board. Again, isn't it
odd that some teams seem to be bulletproof in that regard?

I would love to see the rules actually get enforced at national level
tourneys and have some kind of real penalties for all the cheating that goes
on. Until that day, "Pro" paintball is on track to become little more than
the WWF with paint flying. Comical, farsical and pathetically juvenile.

Doesn't really matter to me... don't play tourneys
