I was just thinking while browsing through some of this group's archives
that since some of you guys (or maybe just LCT) does aluminum milling that it would be a very neat idea to offer customers to make their own custom designed drop forwards... Take the basic design (just a basic curved drop forward) and draw it on some paper, then draw the maximum boundaries for clearance (both hand and tank) and then make it a fancy PDF file for people to download and fax/scan back to you. You could certainly charge a nice fee for the service and probably would attract a lot of attention from teams looking for that extra bling-bling feel =P --Aaron |

That's a cool idea, I've always wondered how much somebody would pay for
looks. The problem with one of a kind machining is it is very expensive. A one up drop forward for instance could easily cost $200-$300 without anno. -- "Don't be misled, bad company corrupts good character." www.LCTPaintball.com www.LCTProducts.com "Aaron McGowan" <aaron@war-paint.ca> wrote in message news:4191da27$0$3599$61c65585@un-2park-reader-02.sydney.pipenetworks.com.au... >I was just thinking while browsing through some of this group's archives >that since some of you guys (or maybe just LCT) does aluminum milling that >it would be a very neat idea to offer customers to make their own custom >designed drop forwards... Exactly. I think i might be able to do a run of say 5-10 drops for a
"reasonable" price. If you are interested in the option let me know. I can get a dimensional drawing out to you so you can draw what you want on there. I could even do a custom run for RSP if people were into it. I would need at least 15 interested parties to make it worth the development and production costs. Any takers out there in RSP land? If I know for sure that 15 people would be interested for around $40 each I can prototype something and start some cost estimates. Jose I. The problem is one off cost, as I am sure everyone else has said. Now, one
of the thing I've looked at and have done is custom images on drops etc. Again the major issue with this is, everyone wants custom work, no one wants to pay for it. I've got a friend that builds marking lasers. We could take standard drops and put any design on them you wanted. It would still be expensive, but not nearly as bad as custom machined ones. |

That should just be a screw and nut with a strong rubber seal... Hell,
you could probably (if you had the right tools) make custom adapter knobs to go with it all! I'm seriously considering a 'victorian' era style drop forward for my marker, heh. --Aaron MathU41 wrote: > If you'd make it possible to attach an on/off adapter, I'd be in. |

Just remember me when you get rich
![]() Actually I've had many of my markers etched, engraved and a few other things (checkering, mainly found on fire arm stocks etc). I mean what good is having the wizz bang 2005 that costs $1500 if it looks like every other one in the same color. I mean when you look at the cash dumped on markers, that all begin to look the same, something like this is VERY viable. There are bolt on and slide rail on/offs that would work with what I am
thinking of. Now we need another 14 or so people to show interest. Whats the design look like? Sketch it up to see if anyone else is
interested? --Aaron Jose wrote: > There are bolt on and slide rail on/offs that would work with what I am > thinking of.
