Wow. Tough to answer. There is no quantitative "better". You really need
to shoot several different slide and hinge models and just decide which feels better to you. I tend to prefer hinges but I started with a Mag. In the end it's just a matter of personal preference, but there are a couple
things to consider... a great slider trigger depends on a smooth trigger plate with no slop...usually this is accomplished by using flat tipped set screws to pin the trigger plate into place...the real high end involves drilling a pit into the screws and inserting teflon or delrin pads into the screws to make the slide action feel like glass on glass...springing on a slider also has to be light yet balanced and guided so it doesn't bind...just things to consider Hinge systems are easier to get fast on out of the box for most people, BUT your choice in hinge trigger will make the difference between a mediocre one and a great one...a great hinge trigger has pre and post travel adjustment stops to allow you to carefully set the travel length to what suits you best...the WGP hinge trigger is only a good system if you modify it with either a cam adjuster or some set screws...the best hinge I've ever used would have to be a System X...not the reaper one, but they make one with a flat blade trigger...the Dye and planet eclipse hinges would both tie for second place after this...all are great triggers, I just really enjoyed the System X one on my gun... ofcourse the ultimate end is the Eblade...that's what I moved to, and now I can barely remember tuning the gun constantly to keep the trigger tight...now it's just a quick run through the menu screens when things get out of time...and you can time in feed tube suction in about 10 seconds... People who can't learn how to work a Cocker trigger well seem to do better with the swing trigger. I like the DYE single swing frame, mostly because I don't like double triggers and DYE was the only company that made a single version. Unfortunately all their Cocker parts are history as they are concentrating entirely on the Matrix/DM-4, but if you can find one of their swing frames, they're nice. |
