Has anyone heard about the new possible NXL rule change? I thought it was
all some lame rumor but it was confirmed by some people I know in the industry. Get this- Semi will be allowed, but so will FULL AUTO. You pull three times and hold it down, and your gun can go full auto up to 15 balls per second. What are your thoughts on this? |

All those fancy BPS-boosting chips and boards, combined with the seemingly superhuman trigger skills of many tourney players, makes the differentiation between full auto and semi auto nearly academic at this point. What scares me is the escalation; when semi-auto was legal, full-auto-like performance was the goal. Now that full auto will be legal, I can only imagine what people will strive for now. Though as far as the game goes, I think it will hurt the contribution that skill makes to gameplay. Imagine this: the game starts, the backmen pull their triggers the required 3 times and then hold them down the remainder of the game, spraying back and forth, with their only concern being to refill the rapidly-emptying hopper every few seconds. |

As a side note, I went up to Ultimate on Sunday and saw this huge birthday party full of 100% little girls just shooting the crap out of each other. They couldn't have been older than 10. And they all had huge smiles on their faces in the staging area. Times are definately changing. |

I completely agree, but what most of you are forgetting is that almost ALL NXL teams have been ramping since the last WC, if not later. Ramping is much more effective because of the lack of a BPS cap. Coupled with 35+ bps Halo B-V's, and it makes FA15 look weak. I don't know if they'll be cracking down on the ramping now with FA but I can tell you this- teams have been playing ramping for a while and the game is EXTREMELY interesting to watch. |

Even some Angels don't have auto components. I know for a fact that all stock Matrix-based markers have no FA. I see more FA in electro-sear dropping spyders/clones more than anything. > I am all for full auto play in some formats, i.e., full auto tourneys or > scenario or large games but, when you have walk on game of noobs, lock em > down to semi only. The ramping chips are very difficult to get (my friend got one once but got rid of it), and the FA chips will be near impossible, I can assume. |

Hey, man, we'll be having way more fun than everyone else. Doubly so if you evaluate that on a per-capita basis. =) Rick -- key CF8F8A75 / print C5C1 F87D 5056 D2C0 D5CE D58F 970F 04D1 CF8F 8A75 This world is the will to power - and nothing besides!
