I noticed today that the plastic collars on some of my pods are
starting to come loose. (The big plastic ring that the flip-top lid is connected to.) I was just gonna use some super glue to reattach them, but I wanted to ask if any of you have a better idea. Maybe something that I haven't thought of that works really well. Any suggestions? Or should I just use the Super Glue? (Assuming I have any left over after sticking all those midgets to all those steel girders.) Thanks! Eric |

The super glue is good, I recommend actually taking a knife and etching
angled lines into the plastic so the glue has some grip for even more strenght. Super glue or a good two-part epoxy (preferably something better than the quick-n-dirty 5 minute stuff) should do the trick. The epoxy will give you a greater chance to fully seat the collars, while the super glue may decide to bond before the collars are fully in place. Make sure the surfaces are clean, rough them up a bit with some sandpaper so that the adhesive of choice has something to grab hold of, clean off the dust from sanding, and bond away! BJJB |

Yeah, but with shipping and handling, those $10 tubes become $20 tubes, and
when I can use 5 cents worth of epoxy for effectively the same net result, I see no reason to lay out the extra dough. Because when the 5 cent epoxy fails and you lose $5 worth of paintballs the
new tubes have just paid for themselves. -- -=GriFter=- "ayar-15" <autococker@insightbbNOSPAM.com> wrote in message news:Kvsvc.43407$Ly.29391@attbi_s01... | Yeah, but with shipping and handling, those $10 tubes become $20 tubes, and | when I can use 5 cents worth of epoxy for effectively the same net result, I | see no reason to lay out the extra dough. | | | | | | "-=GriFter=-" <speeder25NOSPAM@NOSPAMhotmail.com> wrote in message | news:fnrvc.20857$be.15816@newsread2.news.pas.earth link.net... | > Just buy new tubes. | > | > 6 chome $10 | > http://tinyurl.com/3ftbh | > | > 6 blue $10 | > http://tinyurl.com/2q339 | > | > 6 smoke $10 | > http://tinyurl.com/2zqch | > | > 5 blue dye pods $7 | > http://tinyurl.com/2ru97 | > | > 5 blue 32 degrees pods $4 | > http://tinyurl.com/33j4e | > | > I think I'll stop there, I'm sure you can find more if you want. | > -- | > | > | > -=GriFter=- | > | > | > "Ayar15" <hahnsolo@insightbb.com> wrote in message | > news:7a8758c9.0406020925.3f900e7f@posting.google.c om... | > | I noticed today that the plastic collars on some of my pods are | > | starting to come loose. It will work on plastic. -- Phelps <http://www.donotremove.net> "You better slap a muzzle on that scaled down piece of evil." -- Space Ghost |

Try Overstock.com. They carry Virus tubes, which is what I use. Single piece
tube--no ring--nice spring for the top, and there's a slight recess in the tube to get you a grip on the cap instead of a little tab. Haven't pulled them open sliding or pulling open a strap yet, like I have with my PMI and VL tubes. I got a dozen of 'em off eBay for like $7, plus S&H. Just my two cents. |

Actually on smooth plastic etching does not help and actually gives less
"smooth surface" for the super glue to bond to. Even when gluing porous materials (like balsa) it's best to leave the surface as smooth and flat as possible for best adhesion. The key to Super Gluing anything is to make sure you have two clean, smooth, well fitting pieces to join together.
