It's probably not that you can't stand subtitles so much as the nearly interminable boredom that always seems to accompany those goddamn foreign films. Why is it that only american movie studios can make a movie even remotely entertaining? It's fine to make deep, meaningful movies with rich characters and deeply intertwined plots and subtexts, but geez, make the fuckin thing watchable for chrissakes... four hours about a guy who has conversations with his navel lint just isn't very compelling viewing material, yet they somehow manage to pique the critics' interest with that crap. -- Jeff Goslin - MCSD - www.goslin.info It's not a god complex when you're always right |

I've seen it. The whole movie is subtitled, but there isn't a bunch of
talking, so it's not too distracting. The movie was very well done. It's not exactly a feel good movie though. It follows the Bible very closely too. -- "Don't be misled, bad company corrupts good character." www.LCTPaintball.com www.LCTProducts.com "Jeff Goslin" <autockr@comcast.net> wrote in message news:mtWdnTUme6lM79nd4p2dnA@comcast.com... > "TheMajor" <nomail@nodomain.com> wrote in message > news:MQZ0c.7009$Pc.4630@okepread02... > > I'm just wondering if anyone has seen the movie "Passion Of The Christ" > > yet... > > Nope. > > > > > It looks to be subtitled... "not exactly a feel good movie"... that cracks me up. Noooo, I wouldn't
imagine that crucifixion would feel very good. I found it interesting to know how people actually die from crucifixion: I believe I recall that they essentially drown, their lungs filling with liquid their muscles no longer have the strength the expel. Or was it that their diaphragm can't expand with the weight of the body slumped over, resulting in asphyxiation. Hrm. I wish I could remember more clearly. Someone can look it up if they like. -- Jeff Goslin - MCSD - www.goslin.info It's not a god complex when you're always right "LCT Paintball" <nospampleasemnotlyon@mchsi.com> wrote in message news:Nj01c.24296$PR3.494150@attbi_s03... > I've seen it. With all their weight being held up by their arms, which are out horizontally, they can't exhale. So every now and then they'd push themselves up with their feet (attached to the pole with a nail, remember) so they could exhale. Some people managed to stay alive for days doing that. The most I've heard is 4. But most often people would just break their legs so they'd then die within minutes. Jesus' crucifixion was especially brutal. |

Jesus' crucifixion was especially brutal. Hrm. Minutes? I have *never* heard of crucifixion taking minutes. It was used as a form of capital punishment specifically because it took so long to die. I wouldn't think it would *EVER* take minutes if it were known as a lengthy way to die. -- Jeff Goslin - MCSD - www.goslin.info It's not a god complex when you're always right |

I meant minutes after having their legs broken. Without the ability to inhale, one's life expectancy drops dramatically. They'd probably wait for hours or days or however long they felt like before breaking their legs. |

They almost got it right with the Italian Job, perhaps if they threw a little more money at it they would get the feel of the original shoestring budget movie. -- _________________________ Chris Phillipo - Cape Breton, Nova Scotia http://www.ramsays-online.com |
