I'm very satisfied with my two PMI tanks. Both are carbon fiber wrapped 68
c.u./3000 p.s.i. tanks. I strongly suggest a carbon fiber wrapped tank,
rather than a steel N2 tank. The latter is much heavier, but otherwise both
types are equal.

You'll find some good deals on eBay. Keep in mind, though, the seller must
specify (either in the description or in a personal e-mail if you inquire)
whether the tank is up to date since it's last hydrostatic test. Even if
the tank isn't up to date, you can still find a good scuba shop that will
perform the testing for you (or send it out to another company).

I can recommend:

PMI
Nitro Duck
Crossfire

Speaking of PMI tanks, quick question. I bought a 48/3k Pure Energy after my
ACI Bulldog2 was stolen, and the reg's not nearly as consistant. Should a few
drops of oil help, or would I have to send it in for servicing, since it
doesn't have the serviceable reg the ACI did?

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer for that. Sorry. Perhaps someone
else here, who is more knowledgeable than you and I could.

Well, I'll fill the nipple with oil before I fill it next time. Maybe it'll
help to get some oil in it. If anyone here's ore knowledgable, please suggest
something better or call me stupid for this idea if it's dangerous, please. :P

Ususally regs are rebuildable. if the tank is completely emty, you should be
able to take the top of the reg off ( if it has set screws) and you should
be a ble to clean the orings and pistons and whatnot. I am not talking
about unscrewing the reg off of the tank, BTW

I am not sure if putting oil in the fill nipple is a good idea.

NO!!!! Do not oil a high pressure air tank. If there's a problem, send it
in!

STUPID!! I repeat, don't oil high pressure air tanks! There is a
possibility of explosion.

PMI regs can be rebuilt unless it's something different from the current
ones.

Oil and HPA are not a good idea to mix unless you are filling with pure
Nitrogen.
