I'm a newbie to Angels. Been running a Timmy GZ. Found an insane deal
on a Warped Sports Class IR3 on ebay. Just about everything seemed perfect about it, but the bolt was carved up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Burs and grooves all over it. I guess the previous owner took the "self-lube" thing a little too seriously. Anyway, the main problem is that the damn thing won't stop chopping. Even when I use good paint (Proball), it still chops. It's not the barrel (I'm running a Boomstick, but have tried other barrels with no change), and I highly doubt that I'm outshooting my Halo B. Even if I was, it still wouldnt explain why the bolt will shatter a ball even during single fire. Is it just the bolt, or could there be something more serious that an Angel newbie wouldn't pick up ...which could explain why the guy sold it at such a such a low price. On the same note, can an Angel LED bolt work in an IR3? I slapped one in once, but I didnt fire cause the LED bolt seemed too small in every dimension. It was an aweful loose fit. Thanks for your help. |

Make sure that your Dwell setting is in ratio to your MROF setting.... Some
people crank their ROF up without adjusting the Dwell to fit it, or vice versa. Now this advice is coming from someone that used an LCD for awhile and I'm not sure if the IR3s are the same, but they should work on the same principal... Also check the LPR input pressure and make sure the breach doesnt have burs in it. Lastly....stop shooting Proball ![]() Todd www.TeamSnapShot.com "Anon" <terancefet@supernet.com> wrote in message news:040120041904182953%terancefet@supernet.com... > I'm a newbie to Angels. check oring under rotobreach, and the dwell setting,
Also when you close breach you should hear a slight click, this is the bolt pin just clicking on the hammer. Bolts are different so no dice with the one you had but good idea to see if you borrow one from someone if problem continues. angels should not break paint, theangelguy.com is a good source for anything else RD "Dirty" <n"NOSPAM"todd@carolina.rr.com> wrote in message news:MT1Kb.203308$dl.10403039@twister.southeast.rr .com... > Make sure that your Dwell setting is in ratio to your MROF setting.... well, it might be electronic, but it's still a 'gun.
I'd check the following first: 1: where is the paint from the shattered ball going? is it all in the barrel, is any of it getting up into the feed tube? if there's paint and shell in the feed tube, check your detent, or look for other obstructions in the breech that would cause the ball to sit up and get cut in half 2: if you can do so on an angle, turn the velocity WAY down but let the gun cycle normally, and see if the action itself is causing the break, or the firing of the ball. 3: check everywhere for burrs 4: make sure it's the correct bolt for the gun. a third-party bolt might not fit right does it break 100% of the time, or only most of the time? more or less during rapid fire? if possible, I'd hard-reset the electronics to set all settings to factory stock (there's generally a way to do this, but I don't know angels well) |

your halo b may be forcing the paint past the detent and causing the bolt to
clip the next paintball. Try another loader if you can and see if the problem goes away. or you can drill a nother hole in the opposite side and put in a new ball
detent. ITs common to have double detents on angels.. Dwell shouldn't have any effect on ROF unless you go insanely high with the
dwell. I don't see what you mean about a "ratio". I've spent a TON of time over at TAG learning about Angels and I've never heard anything like that. Although I've been wrong before.
