I am a total newbie to paintball, and I just received my new Kingman
Aggressor XT today...To try it out right away, I got a few 12 gram CO2 cartridges (filled), in addition to an empty 12oz Chromoly...My question is, what type of an adapter do I need to use the small, silver 12g cartridges with my Aggressor? Is there a certain name for it? To a novice like me, those small CO2 cartridges look completely sealed, and I am curious as to how the gun will open/hold them... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Bob |

The item you're looking for is a 12 gram adapter. It screws into the place
where your tank would normally go, and has all the stuff inside it to run your gun off 12 grams. Those little 12 grams ARE completely sealed, and the 12 gram adapter contains a puncture pin that opens the end when you twist a knob down on the 12 gram. Then, a seal around the neck of the 12 gram prevents the gas from escaping, and the end of the adapter keeps the pressure on til you run out. Then, you unscrew your adapter, take out the old 12 gram, and put in another 12 gram. The adapters run anywhere in the 15-30 dollar range for a decent one. A word of warning. Before you get all gung-ho about running your semi-auto on 12 gram powerlets, you should know that a 12 gram generally contains about enough air for 10 decently fast semi-auto shots before it sputters out. 12 grams are more intended for pump action guns or other small paintball guns, not the big guns. Also, 12 gram powerlets, as a regularly used power source, are HEINOUSLY expensive. If you wanted to shoot only 100 balls in a game, you'd require about 10 powerlets at 50 cents a pop. That's 5 bucks in CO2 alone. Remember that you're going to be shooting CASES of paint, imagine how much that would cost(here's a hint: 100 bucks in CO2 to shoot a case). I'd go get your 12oz tank filled if I were you. -- Jeff Goslin - MCSD - www.goslin.info It's not a god complex when you're always right "Bob" <Bob1472@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:2f6deaaa.0311131806.7aec05a6@posting.google.c om... > I am a total newbie to paintball, and I just received my new Kingman > Aggressor XT today...To try it out right away, I got a few 12 gram CO2 > cartridges (filled), in addition to an empty 12oz Chromoly...My > question is, what type of an adapter do I need to use the small, > silver 12g cartridges with my Aggressor? The 12 gram cartridges are normally used in the hand held pistols that you
can buy. They were also used in some of the older style pump action guns, RazorBack being one of them. As far as using them with your Aggressor, it really is a non-starter. Firstly as you pointed out you will need a device that will fit to the gun and clamp the cartridge in place. Personally I have not seen these available, unless the gun has been made that way. You would normally place them in a holding bay at the rear of your gun and then turn a thumb screw until the end of the cartridge had been punctured. Once this is done the cartridge is locked in place and the gun ready to fire. Secondly you'll probably only get about 40-50 shots from the cartridge. In otherwords you'll be reloading your cartridges more often than the paintballs inside your hopper. Ditch the cartridges (safely - do not try to open them) and use the 12 oz bottle, you'll get many more shots and the bottle will fit directly onto your gun. That is the more common setup. Most important of all - have fun playing! Enjoy your new gun. 40-50 shots? Holy crap! What kind of efficiency have you been seeing on
pump guns that you think a blowback semi is going to get 40-50 shots off a 12 gram? I thought someone would pull me on that. It was some time ago that I used
the cartridges so fair comment. I stand correct. Either way, go for the 12oz bottle. Well, 12 grams are most often used for pump guns, which actually do get
30-40 shots out of a 12 gram, so you probably were just thinking about 12 grams you've used on pump guns. On a standard blowback semi, though, the 12 grams only get about 10-12 shots before sputtering out. -- Jeff Goslin - MCSD - www.goslin.info It's not a god complex when you're always right "Stuart Coomber" <stu.c@dsl.pipex.com> wrote in message news:3fb52630$0$2393$cc9e4d1f@news.dial.pipex.com. .. > I thought someone would pull me on that.
