I have a Tippman 98 Custom only mods are a basic Tippman double trigger and new
barrel. At times it starts firing full auto.......pretty cool but I have no
control over it. Anyone know why it does this?

either you are low on co2 and there isn't enough blow back pressure to
reset the hammer, or the sear is worn.

or there is a secret agent response trigger installed

clean your gun.

99.9% of tippmann problems can be solved by this, pay special attention to
the rear hammer o ring, and the sear/trigger.

Either low tank pressue or your sear is worn and needs replacing.

The most likely reason is low CO2. Basically, the gun doesn't have enough
air to recock itself when the tank gets really low. There are other reasons
that it can happen, but they aren't as common as simply being low on air.
If you find a refill doesn't fix the problem, clean your gun, replace worn
o-rings n such, and try again. If that doesn't fix it, send it to Tippmann
and they'll fix whatever problem you're having

The Model 98 has a moving sear. It has to slide backward to release off the
trigger. If there is crud in there or if it is misaligned, the sear won't
slip off the trigger and it will go full auto till the sear does finally
slide back. You can actually make a Spyder or Tippmann full auto by putting
something in there to cause the sear to stick. Of course you will have
paint soup if your loader can't keep up with the cyclic rate of fire for the
marker. You should take the whole marker apart and clean the internals to
fix your problem.

its the response trigger , nothing is wrong with your gun
dont listen to the other ppl because there wrong. i think its pretty
cool but the only problem is , u cant turn it off.

u can take the trigger system off and get a normal one but those suck on
trigger pull u wont even be able to shoot 3 balls a second with a normal
trigger

ummmm, he never said he had a response trigger. Next time read the details
of the original poster's actual post. He has a double trigger and a new
barrel, that is
all. Now sit down, shut up, and leave it to us experts.
