I just got a paintball gun from the pawn shop a couple days ago..we bargin
the gun at a good 50 dollars, and bs about how it comes in a package so we got the mask, gun, tank, and some pb balls all together. AND of course it is from a pawn shop. Its a spyder aggressor, i know its not the greatest but i'm trying to at least fix it up to be decent. I stripped the gun totally to find out paint was still in the cracks of the gun and it seemed the pervious owner didn't know squat about the gun. The bolt is all scrached up, the beaver tail is kinda bent but still workable. The upgrades i was thinkin was a expansion chamber and a new bolt..i'll prolly replace the barell of it but not yet. Does anyone know any decent exp. chambers and bolts i can find around at cheap prices? I was thinking just a venturi bolt from ebay..and for the exp. chamber do i need an ASA for it? This would be a crap backup gun if i were ever to use it. but it could be more better than it is now that's for sure. Thanks |

Unfortunately the scratched bolt i common in spyders. Make sure the inside of
the gun itself isn't scratched, or it'll start in on any other bolts you put in. I personally have a PMI 4-stage expansion chamber on mine, but it's mostly just a foregrip now. Most chambers use the tank-sized thread, and if I remember correctly, Agressors only have the ASA-line. You can, however, get an adapter from Lapco (I think) that changes it, and one for the nice 15-degree slant. If you use a big CO2 bottle, I'd also suggest a Psycho Ballistics/KAPP/32* universal drop forward, but that's another personal thing. |

Do you think if i sand the stock bolt down and polish it might make it work again. I could take pictures of the bolt to show how badly it is sratched up. Because getting a $35 dollar bolt and having it scatched up isn't worth it, so i'll get a venturi as of means for usage if i have to. Thanks math for ur input |

$50 for a gun, mask, tank, and ammo......Even though the gun is doo doo,
its still an awesome priced beginner package....My spyder sonix with all that cost me $179, and the gun goes for $50 or less on ebay. As far as the scratches go, I woudn't sweat it. My spyder has had that for a while now and it shoots as good as it ever has. Only upgrade i can suggest is a new barrel, other than that you got a good price. -Nick |

Spyder bolts always develop scratches on the top where the feed tube meets the body, you can polish them away if you like, but they're no big deal. Bolts usually make little difference in how the gun performs, save your money and put it into a good barrel. Expansion chambers will help if you're going to stick with CO2, or you could get your CO2 tank (professionally) anti-siphoned. A good barrel (and good paint) and either the expansion chamber or anti-siphon and that gun will give you years of fun, good buy. |

Well the reason i'm upgrading it is because when i went and filled up the
co2 and hooked it up to the gun it started to leak. When uncocked u can hear a hissing noise, but if u cock it u can still hear it but not as much if it were uncocked. Any ideas on what to fix or replace? check the cup seal on it...if its scratched or cracked it will leak like
that..shouldnt be hard to get a replacement cup seal...if your local shop carries them, if not, fairly cheap part to order....and not bad to go ahead and have one if it does break later -Ty "eleer" <snotch@comcast.net> wrote in message news:2M5bb.113541$mp.58232@rwcrnsc51.ops.asp.att.n et... > Well the reason i'm upgrading it is because when i went and filled up the > co2 and hooked it up to the gun it started to leak. > > When uncocked u can hear a hissing noise, but if u cock it u can still hear > it but not as much if it were uncocked. > > Any ideas on what to fix or replace? > > > "eleer" <snotch@comcast.net> wrote in message > news:Z2Rab.527457$uu5.87375@sccrnsc04... > > I just got a paintball gun from the pawn shop a couple days ago..we bargin > > the gun at a good 50 dollars, and bs about how it comes in a package so we > > got the mask, gun, tank, and some pb balls all together. The spyder i used to use....it would every now and again leak like that
whenever i hadn't oiled in a while....i'd oil it after everygame, but if it was along time between games...sometimes it would do that until i put some oil in it...so you might try that before you replace all the o-rings -Ty "eleer" <snotch@comcast.net> wrote in message news:Hb7bb.529985$Ho3.90446@sccrnsc03... > oh yeah maybe tomorrow i'll get some orings to replace most of the orings > > > "eleer" <snotch@comcast.net> wrote in message > news:k67bb.532211$o%2.234118@sccrnsc02... > > > > I check the cup and its in great condition...could it be the valve? > springs > > to short? there's still a hissing noise when its cocked and uncocked but > > more of a hiss when its uncocked. hrmm... > > > > > > |
