The manual that came with my Sniper, which I won at a tournament in '89, was
a single typewritten page that explained how to adjust the velocity.
Snipers are dead-simple, if you can change a lightbulk you can take one of
these apart and put it back together. The Sniper is just a Sheridan pump
gun in a big blocky aluminum body. You'll need a special tool to remove the
valve, but then there is no reason to take that apart unless it's leaking.

I run mine on CO2 with a WGP inline reg, stable as a rock; lately I've run
it on nitro, nothing changed. Maybe the newer ones made with Cocker bodies
and grip frames etc. could in theory operate on lower pressures due to a
larger valve chamber, although I don't know what you would be gaining from
that. "Low pressure" is one of those buzzwords that tends to hypnotize many
paintballers, they know they want it without being able to explain why. If
you're going to run CO2, use an anti-siphon tank, *any* reg will work just
fine with that setup, the claims that some brands are better than other with
CO2 are absurd, they'll all let liquid through if you let liquid reach them.

With that serial number I think it might be a couple of years older than you
estimated, but only WGP can tell you for sure. Great gun, accurate and
reliable, welcome to the ranks of players who measure their abilities as
paintballers by how many opponents they tag rather than by how many
balls-per-second they can shoot. ;-)
