Tony Perez (VP of System X and Avalanche player) has recently drawn Avalanche away from their sponsorship with Empire over to System X, for get this, an unbelievable $250K deal to sport System X gear.
Recently Avalanche was seen down in San Diego shooting System X's new NME marker, an Intimidator like marker: Regarding the fact that some may be shooting this marker (hence a conflict with Ed Poorman - owner of Warped Sportz) remember that Avalanche is allowed to shoot whatever markers they wish in a tournament. Here are some pics from practice: ![]() ![]() ![]() I think that with this new opportunity for System X we will most likely see the release of a new line of apparel and gear from them, in order to take full advantage of this situation. |

I would have to disagree with you there Ninja, the NME's are not crap. NME's arent massed produced like intimidators. I also shot one recently and I was amazed at the feel of the gun. NME's are hand assembled and tested before being packaged, so they are quality. I recently ordered one it should be here tomorrow. I'll give more complete review of the product by the end of the week.
Don't pass judgement on this gun because of System X's past. They are obviously improving their products and if a top Pro team like Avalanche will shoot them, then they cant be complete crap. Essentially they are timmy clones, how can they possibly be worse than them? |

This is from an Official Press release:
Team Avalanche has signed a two-year, sponsorship deal with System X involving a large amount of cash. Avalanche will shoot the new System X NME tournament marker, and wear System X jerseys, gloves, and pants. Other specifics of the deal were not disclosed. The team will retain its current sponsorship deals with Warped Sportz for casual apparel, Lucky 15 barrels, and Function products, as well as NXE for packs and bags, and PGI Magazine. Avalanche will play a large role in the research and development of future System X products. "This is a great opportunity for us," said Avalanche’s Glen Takemoto. "It’s not very often you get the chance to be a company’s flagship team, and help develop their entire high-end product line, basically from the ground up." Avalanche, an Empire-National-V-Force team in 2004, made their decision to leave based off the long-term prospects of a System X relationship, and not any dissatisfaction with Empire / National. "To be honest, [NPS President] Gino Postorivo was the easiest sponsor to deal with in my 13-plus years of handling pro sponsorship contracts," said team owner Ed Poorman. "National just has a very full stable of teams, many they’ve worked with for years. We just felt it was a case of no matter how successful Avalanche is on the field, we would always be the third or fourth team in their stable. For a pro team, being somebody’s number one team is the ideal situation." Avalanche is looking forward to having an unprecedented amount of influence in the development and evolution of System X’s product line. "Imagine pro players having almost unlimited influence on how one of the top three or four manufacturers, in terms of resources, produces their product line," said Poorman. "Because that’s really how big System X is. They just haven’t had a great impact on the tournament scene yet. We hope to help them change that." In other important Avalanche news, the team has acquired Brandon Mayo from two-time NXL Champions the Philadelphia Americans. Mayo, 21, was one of Philly’s best young talents. "I’m so excited to be part of Avalanche," said Mayo. "I’m looking forward to playing both 7-Man and X-Ball. I’ve been an Avalanche fan forever, so it means a lot to put that jersey on." |

I would tend to disagree in some areas. Empire sells T-shirts and casual wear that is way WAY too overpriced. $30 for a t-shirt, no way what a joke. Their playing gear like the pants and jerseys are right around the norm though. System I have no idea really, Ive never even looked at their products before. The new NME isnt outrageously priced for what it is, and their lower end markers keep dropping in price.
If you want to see a company that sells things that are way too overpriced, check out Dye, $140 for pants, come on I could get 2 pairs for that much.
