ah! i wouldnt recomend an ion as your first gun! they are great guns dont get me wrong but your dumping a lot of money into a sport that you might find out in a month you just dont like and you realize you just wasted 300+ dollars. id recomend a tippmann and after awhile if your still really loving the sport (which im sure you will) then go out and buy yourself an ion!

well you make a good point but dont the pilots go for around 200 new? you could get a used ion for that much, and since we KNOW he will love it so much it will just save him the trouble in the long run. but also remember if you get an ion there will be other expenses such as air and hopper. if your not looking to shell out that much money you cant go wrong with a tippman

id just say get a tippmann for yourself you can get 'em new with everything you need (tank mask hopper etc.) for about 130 its not top of the line stuff but not crap.
