I think it is almost equal. The player has to have a gun that feels right to them and one that they can manipulate. Like I would not be as good as I am with a angel because of the 90* frame and I cant get used to it. Plus some guns are just faster than others. It does take alot of skill to be a paintball player though so it's about.

55% player to 45% gun.

I'd have to say 90% player, 10% gun. I say this because it's not all about the gun, its about the skill of the player. Give a skilled player a cheap gun, and give a not so skilled player a higher end gun. Who will win? The player with skill most likely. Thats just my opinion though.

Well of course, but take two equally talented players different guns. One a Tippman 98 custom, and the other a DM or a Timmy. Who's gonna win easily?

It's a mix but i can't give a percentage 'cus i'm not good at math. To prove my theory: i'm beast w/ my impulse, BUT... give my my friend's ramping dm-fizzle, then i'm sooper beast. But it could really go both ways, cus you know it isn't the gun that's good when sumbody's hopper breaks off in a 3-on-1 and they come out of it... that's straight up skill. But when a team wins cus they do a 5 man burn in all the lanes w/ ramping guns... that's probly a lot of the gun's skill and less of the players' skills. Or maybe it's just one of those questions that can never be fully answered. (x-files music)

definantly a mix the gun totally matters about 25% though. I mean if u have a POS gun(not naming anynames or brands to start a flame war) that chops all the time or has as much accuracy as a sling shot no matter what barrel, no matter how good you are you just can't make a blender work for you if you can't even get the ball to react the other person other than spraying paint at them. Unless maybe your playing surrender rule(no plays this anymore though) and you get close enuff to surrender them than that's 100% skill no thanks to your gun. just an example i can think of where the gun could(but probally won't) play a significant role.

Well let me voice my opinion... its not all skill and its not all gun because... if a pro player has a horrible gun thats chopping and doesnt shoot straight he isnt gonna hit anything unless he bunks everyone... but a noob isnt gonna shoot everyone with a nice gun either so its 70% skill 20% gun and 10% of knowing how your gun shoots where the paint will go when you send a stream down the right or left tape... heh get what i am saying?

speed speed speed i saw your post on the first page i dissagree a back player has just as much chance of beating a front player as a front player does beating a back player...its just the skill the back player has... compared to the skill of the front player... personally i can play any position but i play back cause thats where i am needed...

i would say 60 percent player, 40 percent gun. you dont wanna go out there with a 15 dollar wal-mart brass eagle against someone with an 05 speed. before i got my electro i could get many paople out. this sat i only got out twice the whole day!
