I have to say 10% gun 90% player. Like Ninja Balla, and every one else pretty much says if you don't know how to use the gun your no use to your team. The way I see it, the gun fits the player and their style of play.
As far as front player vs back player. I'd have to give the win to the back player. Its their job to see what's going on through out the whole field, and they are a front player's eyes. So, a back player has to think like a front player to know where to shoot. my .001 cents |

You would be surprised at the people you meet. Ive seen kids with angels not shoot one ball and dudes with tippmanns run out of air during a game they shoot so much.

I think it is alot of skill and a little bit the marker because if you got a great gun like DM4 or something and don't know how tho use it, there is no point. I have only a ICON LED and i am fine with it. It works great and on the field me and it should be feared.

unfortunately, a lot of it has to do with the gun. I guarentee you that a kid that sucks using a dm4 or dm4 or timmy will do far better than a kid that sucks and is using a tippman or spyder.
72% skill, 25% gun, 3% luck. in my opinion.

Ok, heres my thought on this.
I think it is about 20% gun-80% player. Let me explain. Only the player can use the gun to its fullest extent. Unless you play in the NXL and all you do is hold down on the trigger and hope for the best. Then another key part comes into play...position. A backman does not take as much skill as a front man, bottom line. For various reasons. 1. The front man must be quick, and generally in better shape. 2. The front man must be disciplined, he must help his team from the position he is in whether he likes it or not. 3. The front man must be smarter and able to make quicker decisions than the back man. 4. And for the most important thing, the way you shoot out of your bunker. If you look in a magazine you will never see a front man w/ poor posture ( ex. rocky, olli ) but i've seen back players shooting w/ the wrong freakin hand! The only thing i can give to a back man is that it takes a lot of guts not to just take urself out wen your team has lost and you have 7 guys out for you lol. Thats how i look at the situation.

Yea I use an A-5 with RT and a boomstick (until I raise money to get a better gun) and I try to shoot less than 200 every game so I don't need pods. |

Backmen have to be smart, they have to know every bunker on the field. Dont get me wrong front is definately a difficult position and takes a hell of a lot of skill to play effectively. But the best back players need to have the same skill as well, cause if and when those front players get eliminated, its the back players who fill in. The most effective back players can play the entire field, know every bunker, and use that to finish out the game.

i wan't dissing on back players( sry if i offended anybody) i was just saying, the game for a front man is much more fast paced, you have a much higher chance of being hit off break and being taken out earlier in the game.
But like big boss said, a good player can play every part of the field effectively.

agreed. I play front, but Backmen have to be like the quarterbacks in paintball. They have to know exactly what is going on in front of them(HOPEFULLY not behind them).
