I'm really getting worried about my involvement in the sport. I have the best of the best of gear, I love the game as much as anyone, but I just never go! I want so bad to paintball more, but the price of paint, air, and admission is just getting ridiculous! I can't pay 60+ dollars for paintballing a week! I just can't see myself going paintballing much anymore. I used to be able to go on a regular basis with myself having a job at such a young age...Then I realized that I would be driving, paying for car insurance, and a truck in a year and a half, and I needed to start saving my money. That 60 dollars a week really adds up after a while, and if I begin paintballing more, there's no way in hell I am going to be able to afford a car. As some of you know, I play hockey at a high level and that is far more than enough for my mom, who is already so far into debt that it's virtually impossible to get out of without winning the lottery, to be able to pay for my paintballing in addition to the hockey. I play tennis often too, but that costs hardly anything to play. I just don't know what to do with paintball at this point. Should I sell all my gear and just completely get out of it? Should I keep my stuff and just use it when I do go on occation? Or just keep spending ridiculous amounts of $ to play and go though hell and back when it comes time to make truck payments? I don't know, and I'm beginning to get concerned.

I definately feel you on the prices of paintball...I'm struggling to compete in the New York Paintball Series, right now because the price just to practice. the tournament isn't whats killing my bank account, its practicing where I live. I live right outside New York City and everything is so damn expensive. some places are $90+ for a single case of paint. the way I see it, it will all pay off later in life. that and the love of the sport is why I keep playing..Love of the sport first, of course

See, I don't even play on a team. I don't have time to play on a team because of hockey, but I'm still having a lot of trouble paying just to go to the local fields.

Nightkast, that's the thing, I'm never GOING to be financially better than I am now.
Twitchy, It wouldn't be worth the time and money to sell my gun and buy a new one, just to save 100 bucks. I only like a few guns, and the others I do like arn't much cheaper than my DM5.
