I've heard great things about Toshibas, Dells and HP Laptops.
I DONT WANT A MAC!!! Any suggestions? I don't want to spend over 1300 on one. I'll be using it for Internet, AIM, watching DVDs, iPod music management, school stuff, and graphic design.

Yea I will have to say go for and HP. I have one. It is great. But dell if you want warrenty or the ability to customize a bit more. I mean the best thing to do is go to the dell site and customize one then see the out the door price and then compare it with the HP ones.

You know I have had a Dell laptop, HP laptop, and a Toshiba laptop, and out of all of those I think that they all suck. If you want a really good laptop check out PCLaptops.com. I have been buying their laptops for 3 years now and I have had no problems on the system myself, and If I did, all of PCLaptops laptops comes with a lifetime service warrenty. that's my 2 cents

u guys are all crazy IBM is the way to go my dad works for them and i used to have one and i luved it i used to use it for school but then my school made a rule that u cant bring computers to school so i dont have much use for it anymore. cuz i play games and u cant replace the graphics card in the laptop so i sold it
