Well if I were you and you have the opportunity I would try them both out and see which one you like the best. Each one has its ups and downs. Shockers IMO just dont cut it anymore. Their eye logic (including the reflective eye itself) is to me ridiculously inferior to break beam eyes. If SP were smart they would have created break beam eyes for the new year shockers, since they developed them for their ions. But thats something I'm sure they researched and it may have turned out to not be profitable in the long run. Most of the shockers that I have seen are broken (coming from a guy working at a paintball shop). There always seems to be a shocker in for repair so I dont think they are very reliable guns, but that also comes down to how much time you put into taking care of it.

Timmies are really fast gats that can melt faces no problem. Bob Long doesnt have the best quality control though, and I have heard a lot of complaining of garbage right out of the box. But if you are adept at tinkering and/or have a good shop to back you up, then I would say get the intimidator. Russian Legion is also one of the best looking ones IMO.

IMPORTANT - I mean it if you can try them both out (even if its not a russian legion it doesnt matter, all timmies are the same) and see which one fits your style better. I have shot both shockers and timmies and have found the shockers to definately be lacking. But these are just my opinions. Also if you have the money to go up to a Russian Legion you might want to take a look at other comparably priced markers, such as Egos, and possibly the new Proto 06.

IMO i would go with the RL with out a doubt. i just plain dont like shockers its comfort for me. shockers are incredibly fast if u get an aftermarket board, they run laps around timmies, but i would definitly rather shoot a timmy. why? because i just like timmies more! thats probably one of the dumbest reasons too but like i said before its a comfort level with me and im more comfortable with timmys.

Very True I like both shocker's and timmy's. I have played with both and personally found that I am more comfortable with a timmy than a shocker, but I wont take anything away from shockers.

exactly what kruse said, timmys r just more my style, and dont get me wrong shockers r sick too, its just personal preference
