Don't oil the barrel. It will severely affect your accuracy. If you do get
oil in the barrel just clean it out really well and your good to go again.
You need a minimum of 5-8" unported to get a decent effeciency. Your
efficiency will improve, though not significantly, up to 14" of unported,
unstepped length. Anything longer than 16" and the friction of the barrel
will overcome the force that the air is producing. This will reduce your
efficiency but you should still be able to get up to any field limits, just
at a higher air usage cost.
